Provide effective support to field operations for products/services as a moderator for technical queries, analyze and respond to query content, escalating queries to Sustaining Engineering where needed. Execute corresponding queries through to closure, identify and report failure trends while encouraging the use of existing documentation by field operations. Responsible for creating, reviewing, and maintaining Technical Documentation for the products/services assigned and contributing to optimizing products and test processes. 

The reliability engineer is responsible for tracking field failures and high maintenance costs; then finding ways to reduce these failures, losses or high costs. Prioritize focused effort on critical opportunities. Provides technical advice and strategic support to develop a plan to improve designs and operating efficiencies and expand the life cycle of the tools. Will play a critical role in the design and development stages for new products and the modification of the existing product.

DUTIES AND RESPONISBILITIES

  • Assist with creation, review and maintenance of the Product Line technical documentation and applications such as technical standards, SOPs, maintenance procedures, audit protocols, calculators and other types of work instructions. Assist with roll out and related deployment training for those documents. 
  • Represent the global product line organization in the functions of incident investigations and corrective actions from product line non conformances, implementing recommendations to product line service quality, HSE and training and competency programs
  • Participate in customer communication regarding service quality and learning and development performance review meetings, supporting incident reviews, corrective actions and best practices in product line operations
  • Participate in the location technical audits and police adherence to Product Line processes and procedures from all aspects of service delivery.
  • Respond to technical queries from the rig site operations and repair base locations in a timely manner as defined by product line and liaise with the engineering, automation & controls and development departments to assign priorities and follow up on technical queries assigned to them for review and execution. 
  • Oversee usage of product line performance tracking system and incident statistics via existing ERP systems including analysis of trends and specific issues / failures with products/services. 
  • Assist in product and/or process improvement/enhancements and evaluate the field performance of prototype and existing or modified products, as required 
  • Design and perform tests and experiments to enhance and understand product performance when required, and provide detailed technical reports intended for internal or external distribution 
  • Assist in improving product reliability through collaboration with suppliers, as needed. 
  • Push the usage of the latest software available for acquisition systems in the field where applicable 
  • Continuously assimilate with the products/services by self-training through working with R&D on developing products.
  • Perform various other duties and activities assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • BS Mechanical, Industrial or Mechatronics EngineeringÂ
  • Strong interpersonal leadership skills for mentoring and consensus buildingÂ

  • Ability to outline, communicate and implement effective objectives and action plans.Â

  • Advanced skills in MS Excel. Working knowledge of standard office software such as MS Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Minimum 1 Year Experience in Failure Analysis/Root Cause Analysis.
  • Minimum 1 Year Experience in Repair and Maintenance Role.Â
  • 1 - 3 years of Industry experience.Â
  • Analytical experience in determining root cause failure and improving life cycle equipment cost.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with ERP and asset management platforms.
  • Specific knowledge of TRS and MPD product lines and related industry specifications.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 25%).
  • Capable of working in office, workshop, and rig-site environment as needed.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. and work around machinery in service facilities.
  • Primarily office-based with exposure to field operations and service workshops.
