We're seeking an innovative Lead to orchestrate menus and maintain excellence in our kitchen and Hospitality team. You will help lead a talented team in delivering quality meals and extraordinary service to couples, groups, and events, making Hope Restored-Texas a place of restoration and healing. This position offers a $1000 hiring bonus. The bonus will be paid to the hired candidate half after 30 days ($500) and half upon the successful completion of 6 months of work ($500). Employees must be active and in good standing at the time of bonus payout to be eligible for hiring bonuses. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Is responsible for the operations of the assigned shift in the Hospitality area, ensuring that FMI provides each guest with an experience that is characterized by highly attentive service, excellent food and beverages, and cleanliness throughout the property Develops and trains staff on procedures for cooking, service, food handling, and safety that are compliant with standards set by the County Health Department. Ensures that all Hospitality Assistants are trained in Serve Safe and other required training programs as necessary Actively participates in cooking and food preparation, demonstrating culinary expertise and leadership Oversees inventory management, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs Creates and innovates menu items and recipes, considering dietary restrictions, trends, and guest preferences Responds promptly to guest feedback and dietary requests, including allergies, ensuring meals are prepared safely and to satisfaction Is responsible for following food safety guidelines set by the County Health Department Receives and inventories deliveries from all vendors Manages the ever-increasing special needs of guests that range from preference to life-threatening food allergies. Informs the Hospitality team of these special needs to ensure the wellbeing and experience of guests Ensures Hospitality work area is clean, well maintained, and free of safety hazards Maintains the cleanliness of all guest areas Maintains the cleanliness of the Hospitality Center, general cleaning of floors, windows, bathrooms, and counseling rooms, etc. Is sensitive to know when areas are off limits for cleaning due to noise Does laundry, as needed Attends and maintains Chemical Training Other Duties/Responsibilities: Performs other duties as assigned Managerial Breadth/Scope of Job: Supervises and trains staff Responsible for food safety including interactions with the Health Department Responsible for Culinary management, with a focus on kitchen operations and menu development Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the facility Counsels/mentors employees for growth and departmental expectations; exhorts and provides evaluation to staff Working Environment/Physical Requirements: Must be able to pass a Post Offer Prehire Physical exam Must be able to work 40+ hours per week as needed Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed In the event of staff shortages or emergencies, must be able to assist in Housekeeping Must be able to lift up to 40lbs Must be able to push/pull up to 25lbs Must be able to bend and reach above head Requires repetitive tasks/motions, good eye-hand-foot coordination, and good manual dexterity Some exposure to gases, odors, fumes, and sharp utensils Occasional holiday and weekend work is required JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Character/Spiritual: Exemplifies Ephesians 5:1-2, “Therefore be imitators of God as dear children and walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us...” Pursues the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Focus; adheres to the Standard of Moral Conduct and Statement of Faith; upholds Focus on the Family's ministry in prayer Prays personally for Focus on the Family's staff and constituents and may occasionally lead in a public prayer Engages in Christian ministry Demonstrates behaviors aligned with FOF core values Personal Characteristics: Must be detail oriented, dependable, self-motivated Must have an even temperament that allows for working in a high-pressure, high-visibility environment Knowledge/Experience: High school Diploma 1-2 years of experience in dealing with the public and in food preparation and management Must have Serve Safe and Chemical Training certifications Supervisory experience helpful Skills, Abilities, and Special Talents/Gifts: Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully at all levels Ability to lead and motivate kitchen staff Good organizational skills Ability to work independently Ability to multi-task Good cooking skills and is knowledgeable of flavors and herbs Good cleaning skills Good attention to detail Strong customer service and people skills Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions Flexible in adjusting priorities Ability to work independently with very little immediate supervision Ability to work with various food preparation machines and equipment, sharp knives, and various chemicals Pay Range: $16.00 to $18.25/hr.
