State & Local Tax Manager POST NUMBER: 464775
We are seeking an experienced State & Local Tax Manager to lead sales and use tax consulting and compliance engagements while supporting the growth of our tax practice. This role involves managing complex client projects, serving as the primary client contact, and delivering high-quality advisory services. The Tax Manager will supervise and mentor a team of professionals, fostering collaboration, technical excellence, and career development.
Responsibilities include overseeing sales and use tax compliance, planning, and advisory work; staying current on state and local tax legislation; developing strategies to optimize client tax positions and mitigate risk; and ensuring projects are completed accurately and on time. The role also supports business development efforts, including expanding client relationships and contributing to thought leadership and industry presentations. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to integrate tax strategies into broader business solutions.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (advanced degree preferred), 8 years of state and local tax experience, strong leadership skills, and deep technical knowledge of SALT laws. CMI certification is a plus.
The position offers a competitive base salary of $120,000–$130,000, performance-based bonuses, comprehensive benefits, retirement plan with company match, paid time off, professional development, and work-from-home flexibility.
