Job Purpose:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and community-focused Senior Social Media Community Specialist to join our growing team and help us connect with gardeners around the world! If you're passionate about gardening, love building genuine relationships online, and thrive on engaging with communities across social platforms like Reddit, Discord, Facebook, and Pinterest, we'd love to have you cultivate our brand presence and spread the joy of growing together!
Essential Responsibilities:
- Build Reddit presence through direct interaction with gardeners and customers on relevant subreddits
- Grow and moderate the Vego Garden Facebook group
- Discover, join, and engage with relevant gardening Discord servers
- Establish and execute Pinterest strategy to increase brand discoverability
- Identify and pursue potential new opportunities for community engagement online
- Manage day-to-day engagement across social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, YouTube, LinkedIn)
- Respond to comments, DMs, mentions, and tags in a timely, on-brand manner
- Foster positive, inclusive, and authentic community interactions
- Monitor conversations, trends, and sentiment related to Vego and the gardening industry
- Escalate customer service issues, feedback, or crises to appropriate teams
- Assist with content creation for social media and PPC ads
- Track engagement metrics and provide regular community insights and reports
- Support campaigns, launches, and promotions through active community engagement
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the social media domain
- Assist the Branding Team with tasks from the managing Partners
- Comply with Company policies and procedures
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience managing social media communities or brand accounts
- Strong written communication skills with a clear, friendly brand voice
- Deep understanding of social media platforms and online culture
- Knowledge of gardening
- Experience using social media management tools (e.g., Sprout, Hootsuite, Later, Sprinklr)
- Ability to handle sensitive conversations calmly and professionally
- Highly organized with strong time-management skills
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, real-time environments
Physical Demands:
This position involves working both indoors at a desk and outdoors in a farm setting. Must be able to operate a computer for prolonged periods with moderate walking, standing, lifting, carrying, moving objects, reaching and crouching. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Exposure to outdoor environments including hot and cold temperatures and humidity.
Job Location and Work Schedule:
- This is a full-time position based out of our two locations listed below. This position will work at both locations on various days of the week.
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid schedule with one remote workday per week and four days onsite.
- Headquarters location: 13808 Boudreaux Road, Bldg. #2, Tomball, TX.
- Farmhouse location: 22503 Lain Road, Spring, TX.
- Monday through Friday.
- 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Lunch break 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
Benefits
- The salary range is $55,000 - $65,000.
- Flexible Paid Time Off.
- 12 PTO days per year, accrued bi-weekly, with incremental increases annually.
