TRP Construction Group is a growing construction and infrastructure organization committed to delivering high-quality projects while maintaining strong financial discipline. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support our accounting and finance operations as we continue to expand.

Role Overview

The Assistant Controller will work closely with the Controller to manage day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and job cost accounting. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, NetSuite experience , and advanced Excel proficiency within a construction-focused environment.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Maintain general ledger accuracy, reconciliations, and journal entries
• Assist with job cost accounting, WIP schedules, and cost-to-complete analysis
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Manage and optimize accounting processes within NetSuite
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
• Partner with project managers to review project financial performance
• Assist with cash flow analysis, AP/AR oversight, and financial reporting
• Support audits and continuous process improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
• 4–5 years of experience in finance or accounting
• NetSuite experience required
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, financial analysis)
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Construction or infrastructure industry experience
• Experience with job costing and WIP reporting
• CPA or progress toward CPA certification
