Trucking Assistant Operations Manager

Alamo Transit Company (ATC) is looking for an Assistant Operations Manager to oversee dispatch and coordinate material hauling orders with our contracted owner/operators. This key role involves processing orders from internal plants to meet material requirements and managing third-party trucking deliveries for both internal and external clients. Alamo Transit Company (ATC), headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, provides transportation services for Alamo Cement Company and Alamo Concrete Products Company (ACP). Our operations include one cement plant in San Antonio, several cement terminals across Texas, and eight ready-mix divisions throughout the Greater Central/South Texas region.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

• Supervising dispatch staff
• Scheduling material deliveries for external and internal customers
• Validating orders with production needs in internal tracking system
• Communicating with contractors and third-party carriers
• Supporting the Operations Manager in daily responsibilities
• Reporting and communicating safety issues to proper personnel
• Coordinating and attending regular safety meetings with contractors
• Ability to inspect contractor equipment
• Assist Operations Manager with recruitment of new contractors
• Operate as a liaison to internal and external customers

Requirements

• 10 years prior experience in logistics/trucking industry preferred
• In-Office work environment, remote work not available
• Fluent in Spanish required
• Availability during all business hours, to include nights and weekends
• Travel required, to include limited overnight timeframes
• Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Must be familiar with dispatching operations
• Must be able to work independently as well as with a group
