Cashiers/Stockers - Multiple African Grocery Stores

African Market Solutions is seeking up to 10 cashier stockers for African stores across North Texas.

Create an exceptional experience by delivering friendly service, helping customers locate and purchase products, and keeping the store and work vehicle clean and organized. You'll be the face of the African market experience and a valuable part of preserving and promoting African food culture.

Responsibilities:

Cashiers:

• Greet and assist customers warmly

• Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system (Cash, Credit/Debit, SNAP, WIC, loyalty programs)

• Handle age-restricted and regulated items responsibly (e.g., alcohol, tobacco)

• Ensure accurate transactions, manage till balances, and minimize errors

• Stay updated on store promotions, specials, and new arrivals

• Report pricing issues or system errors to supervisors

Stockers:

• Receive, unpack, and shelve incoming goods

• Keep displays stocked, clean, and orderly

• Rotate products to reduce spoilage and waste

• Assist customers with locating items

• Support inventory counts and backroom organization

Language & Culture Advantage (Preferred):

• Proficiency in East or West African languages highly preferred:
  Swahili, Amharic, Somali, Yoruba, Twi, Igbo, Hausa, Luganda, Wolof, Kinyarwanda, Fulani, etc.

• Familiarity with African food products, spices, snacks, and household goods is a major plus

• Cultural fluency to assist with diverse African clientele across the diaspora

Required Qualifications:

• Customer service experience (preferred but not required)

• Effective communication skills

• Basic math skills (counting, change-making)

• Must be physically able to stand for long hours and lift up to 40 lbs

• Friendly, honest, and respectful team player

• Punctual and professional work ethic

Schedule:

• Full-time or Part-time available

• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays as needed

• Morning (7am to 2pm) and evening shifts (1pm to 8pm) available
