Deposit Account Specialist

Role Responsibilities
Responsible for satisfying member's financial needs and providing assistance to our Retail Operations team in the following areas while meeting individual, department and organizational goals. This individual is also responsible ensuring compliance with government regulations, including FCRA, Regulation CC, and Texas Trust Credit Union policies and procedures and ensuring a high level of accuracy in the following areas:
- Daily processing of eOscar share queue to ensure all disputes are responded to accurately and timely in accordance with the FCRA;
- Responsible for responding to all credit disputes by mail, email, and phone, as they relate to share account, including ChexSystems disputes in an accurate and timely manner;
- Review monthly CheckSystems and Credit Reporting share accounts for accuracy for submission;
- Monitor accounts with large negative balances while working with the Fraud Department to ensure recovery;
- Monitor charge-off accounts and process reporting for overdraft accounts;
- Responsible for dormant account review, including maintenance, member correspondence and branch communication.
- Review and process Certificate of Deposit reports, maintenance, and renewal requests;
- Process rates and fees maintenance, as it relates to Deposit Operations;
- Responsible for reviewing the Safe Deposit Box monthly report, updating Safe Deposit Box Inventory, and notifying members of delinquent rent status;
- Review Name/TIN mismatch reports, process account maintenance and correspondence including with members and the IRS;
- Responsible for ongoing development and documentation of new and existing processes;
- Assist credit union employees and members with all deposit operations related inquiries received via phone, email, Teams or KBox request;
- Serves as a backup for all other functions in Deposit Operations;
- Presents a helpful and positive attitude, focusing on solutions and promoting a collaborative environment at all times;
- Practices and brings to life with the team our Yes And culture;
- Comply with established regulations and law requirements;
- Perform various other duties as assigned;
Required Experience
- High school graduate with equivalent or demonstrated qualifying experience;
- Minimum one (1) year experience in a financial institution is required;
- Must have working knowledge in interest and dividend calculations, research operation and account analysis;
Skills, Education and/or Certifications Required
- Preferred knowledge of industry-standard software and systems;
- Must be capable of performing in a fast-paced office environment;
- Requires an organized, detail-oriented self-starter who is able to work independently;
- Preferred working knowledge of current Windows Office Software;
- Confidentiality of information and security of records are required;
- Possess a strong work ethic and team player mentality;
- Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to member satisfaction;
- Must have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with both internal and external members.
