Lube Technician – Automotive - Randall Reed's Planet Ford, Quick Lane Service Centers, Humble and Porter, Texas

Job Description

The Lubrication Technician will be responsible for lubricating cars in a quick, yet thorough manner, and for carrying out responsibilities through coordination with the Production Foreman.

Job Responsibilities

  • Express Tech, oil and filter changes, tire rotations and basic maintenance -filters, tire repairs
  • Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)
  • Perform thorough check of customer's car (i.e. check additional fluid levels, battery, lights, tire pressure) referring all needed repairs and preventive maintenance to the Service Advisor.
  • Ensure that the customer's car is kept clean
  • Keep logs on work and issues
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good condition
  • Maintain an organized and neat shop area.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety standards and codes of conduct
  • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Company's Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and vendors
  • Other responsibilities as necessary or requested by the service management team

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as auto mechanic
  • Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
  • Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
  • Valid certification (e.g ASE) is a definite plus

Qualifications

  • Must meet dealership’s requirements for employment
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and information
  • Familiarity with all aspects of automotive repair/maintenance
  • Must have a valid driver license and be able to operate manual transmissions
  • Prior experience as a technician’s helper or apprentice preferred
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Occasional exposure to inclement weather
  • Ability to operate an automobile
  • Prolonged periods of standing, stooping and bending
  • Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Requires a significant amount of walking and/or standing. May also require working in the seated position for long periods while operating controls with arms and legs. This position may also require working at a production pace while pushing and/or pulling materials from place to place
