Overview

Title: Senior Software Engineer (mult.)

Location : Sally Beauty Supply, LLC - 3001 Colorado Blvd, Denton, TX 76210; May telecommute from home in the Denton, TX MSA.

Duties :

Develop code and integrations to implement software solutions to enhance Xstore. Write new code and modify existing code to meet requirements of Xstore mobile POS and other mobile business applications. Develop solutions to accurately send information from POS up to the Business Intelligence applications. Design, adapt, test and implement Payment Terminal solutions. Participate in the release management of different IT platforms, including the installation and monitoring of production releases. Identify and test system performance for optimization and stability, and work with responsible parties to implement fixes. Provide technical assistance to improve system performance, capacity, reliability, and scalability. Oversee system performance lifecycle and identify key metrics for performance improvements. Evaluate system performances and recommend improvement. Generate periodic performance reports for management review. Responsible for the planning and execution of customer proof of concepts. Partner with QA team in integration/system/performance testing in order to ensure high quality solution releases for production. Perform review, analysis and design on new assignments, identifying opportunities and challenges to ensure the successful implementation of the assignment. Compile with existing documentation requirements for Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Compile with Payment Card Industry (PCI) requirements. Lead IT vendor and internal partners in the delivery solutions. Support the continuous evolution of retail technology solutions through effective communication across the organization, proactively identifying areas of innovation and improvement. Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and provide automation. Participate in the design of Retail Systems support systems. Provide production support, including troubleshooting problems, break fixes, ad hoc data mining. May telecommute from home in the Denton, TX MSA.

Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Computer Applications, Computer Engineering or a related field.

Minimum Experience Required : Eight (8) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Senior Software Engineer or related occupation in software development for retail industries.

Alternate Education Required :Master's degree in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Computer Applications, Computer Engineering or a related field.

Alternate Experience Required : Six (6) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer or related occupation in software development in retail industries.

Special Requirements: Eight (8) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience with Bachelor's degree, or the six (6) years of experience with Master's degree, must have included:

• Experience in Xstore Oracle POS technical development, Xstore framework knowledge of the Oracle POS architecture and Software Suite Xcenter, Customer Engagement, Order Broker, Weblogic, Oracle Linux DB.
• Experience with Java Python, Oracle Java, JSON, SOAP, and REST API development.
• Experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases, comfortable with complex queries and PL/SQL language.
• Experience in creating Technical designs,and developing code to meet business requirements in the Xstore POS applications.
• Experience in developing java code to meet requirements of Xstore mobile POS and other mobile business applications.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

The position requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as shipment or record boxes. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity.
