Front Office Assistant/Receptionist

Position Title: Front office clerical (check in/check out)

General description: This position is responsible for scheduling appointments, collecting copays, obtaining authorization and sending referrals. Multitasking and great customer service are critical for this position.

Major duties and responsibilities: This position is responsible for making sure patients are taken care of in a timely manner prior to the visit with the physician/nurse practitioner. At the time of check-in all paperwork, insurance verification and collection of copays will need to be addressed. Allocation and logging of funds collected daily as well as making sure the office is ready for the next business day. The front office staff will be responsible for enforcing polices regarding on time arrival and financial responsibilities.

Minor duties and responsibilities: Answering incoming calls, assisting patients to schedule and reschedule/appointments, directing phone calls to appropriate staff. Translation services may be utilized if the coordinator is bilingual. The assistant will cross train to be able to fill any other staff position if the need arises.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma/GED required.

Experience: Clerical experience, business office experience, electronic medical record experience are all preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
