Job Details:

Purpose

This position is to provide research assistance, laboratory management, and management of the mouse colony for the Ehrlich lab.

Responsibilities

  • Manage laboratory and administrative functions: carry out basic lab maintenance/upkeep, order and store general lab supplies/reagents, manage inventory, and maintain ordering databases, keeping track of spending. Submit receipts to departmental ordering team. Coordinate reagent shipments. Train new personnel in lab-specific procedures. Maintain lab meeting schedule, ensure conference room is reserved for lab meeting, and maintain rotating lab chore chart.

  • Ensure compliance with IACUC and EHS regulations, including coordinating training for lab members.

  • Manage mouse colony and maintain laboratory animal database and safety records; breed and genotype assigned strains; manage daily communications with ARC staff and coordinate communication between ARC and lab members; serve as emergency contact for ARC; coordinate animal shipments with ARC staff.

  • Perform scientific experiments as directed, primarily involving standard and multiplex immunofluorescence imaging. Participate in lab meetings and journal clubs. Assist lab members with experiments, as needed, including flow cytometry/cell sorting.

Required Qualifications

Prior experience with mouse handling, colony maintenance, and genotyping; robust organizational skills; prior experience with cryosectioning and immunofluorescence staining and imaging; strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with flow cytometry.

Salary

$48,000
