Shift Leader Key Holder
Status: Full-time and Part-time Available, Hourly, Non-Exempt
Role and Responsibilities
The Shift Leader Key Holder is responsible for supporting the management team and team members, overseeing the daily operations during shifts, and ensuring excellent customer service. This role involves handling cash and maintaining store standards while creating a positive atmosphere for both team members and customers.
Duties Include:
• Learn brew methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques; discover new methods to improve food quality and customer experience.
• Respond to orders, questions, concerns, and complaints in a polite and friendly manner; exhibit a thorough understanding of all menu offerings to aid in customer decisions.
• Motivate team members during shifts.
• Assist in training new staff and provide ongoing support and guidance.
• Foster a welcoming environment for all guests.
• Assist in opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and store security.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, including workstations and dining areas.
• Educate customers about menu items and new products.
• Communicate any issues or concerns to management promptly.
• Prepare and serve beverages (coffees, smoothies, and teas) and foods (bagels, muffins, and sandwiches); provides product suggestions and assist customers with special orders.
• Clean and restock dining areas, empty trash, and sanitize equipment and utensils; comply with all health and safety regulations.
• Take inventory and replenish items in display cases, at tables, and behind the counter; update displays and signage to retain customer interests and attract new customers.
The position description is not all inclusive and I may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent is a plus.
• 1-2 previous years of experience in a coffee shop or similar food service environment.
• Previous leadership experience is a plus.
Qualifications:
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Basic math skills for cash handling.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
• Comfort in a fast-paced environment.
