Senior Embedded Software Development Engineer Location Houston, TX :

Solstice Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer for an industrial client in SE Houston.

• Base Salary of $100k - $135k DOE plus bonus opportunity and excellent benefits

• Minimum of Bachelors degree (Advanced Degree preferred) and 5+ years of experience in industrial embedded product development required

• Role is responsible for developing, validating and supporting firmware for industrial embedded products.

• Role is HYBRID - (M-Th) in SE Houston Area Office and One Day Work From Home

Role Responsibilities:

• Formulate and execute a plan for the design, development and validation of firmware for embedded industrial platforms. This will include new products and enhancements to existing products.

• Generate and maintain detailed technical documents as required during the course of product development.

• Create with R&D management a project plan for the work allocated and be responsible for the execution, accuracy and content of the defined work.

• Provide support for existing electronic and software products as required. Duties will include training, technical assistance and application of technical knowledge.

• Collaboration with the departments and teams within the company to deliver the software products as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Software or Electrical Engineering (or related) area required

• Advanced degree (MS, Ph.D.) preferred.

• 5+ years of professional experience in industrial embedded product development role required

• Embedded software development experience in C and C++ required

• Experience with Structured software & validation processes design, RTOS principals and operation, and Microcontrollers required

• Database design and implementation using SQL or related required

• PC-based software development using “C#” or similar preferred

• Experience with electrical switchgear and control gear for industrial power control, distribution and protection.

• Awareness of regulatory standards such as ANSI, IEEE, IEC and Industrial control protocols (e.g., IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, Devicenet, Profibus etc).

• Demonstrable project management and organizational skills.
