Product Owner, Insurance

Kizen
Austin, TX

Job Title: Product Owner

Location: Austin, TX

Company: Kizen,

About Us

At Kizen, we build technology that makes AI actually work for people.

Our platform helps organizations automate the workflows that matter most — from helping insurance agents manage contracting and commissions, to enabling healthcare providers to deliver proactive patient care, to empowering financial institutions to classify documents and extract data automatically.

And that’s just the beginning. With Kizen, developers can build new enterprise applications, while business users can customize dashboards and agents using AI, low-code, or code — all on the same platform. The possibilities are limited only by imagination.

What used to take months or years to build, configure, and connect now takes just days. Kizen combines powerful pre-built agents and use cases with an enterprise platform for automation and data connection — all built on an AI-first architecture that’s easy to adopt, scale, and trust.

We’re not chasing hype. We’re solving real operational problems and helping the world’s most complex organizations work faster, smarter, and more humanely.

Join us in transforming how industries work — one workflow, one agent, and one customer success story at a time.

About the Role

Are you a tech-savvy problem-solver with a passion for creating world-class customer experiences? Ready to play a key role in transforming how businesses harness the power of AI? If so, this is your moment.

We’re looking for a Product Owner who’s ready to roll up their sleeves, collaborate with clients, and drive meaningful change through innovative software solutions. This isn’t just a job — it’s a front-row seat in shaping the future of AI-powered business platforms.

This is a career-defining opportunity to be part of something truly special. As a Product Owner at Kizen, you’ll be at the intersection of cutting-edge tech, operational transformation, and customer success. You’ll work directly with clients, customizing our rapidly growing low-code platform for everything from sales to marketing and operations — all while building scalable, data-driven solutions that make a real impact.

You’ll be surrounded by high-performing, mission-driven teammates and work closely with our implementation, product, and data teams. The work you do won’t just be noticed — it’ll be celebrated.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Improving broken or inefficient workflows.

  • Making complex systems simple for end users.

  • Being the expert who understands a system better than anyone.

  • Clear documentation, clarity, and precision.

  • Seeing their product adopted and used successfully.

  • Working cross-functionally to deliver results.

  • Helping customers and internal teams understand how the system should operate

Minimum Requirements - What You Bring to the Table

  • 5+ years in Product Ownership, Business Systems Analysis, or similar hybrid roles

  • Strong understanding of SaaS workflows, business process automation, and system integrations

  • Experience in insurance, contracting, credentialing, or compliance-heavy industries

  • Demonstrated experience documenting complex business processes and system logic

  • Ability to gather, refine, and translate requirements into clear specifications for engineering

  • Excellent communication skills and comfort interacting directly with clients

  • Experience managing backlogs, writing user stories, and driving feature lifecycle from ideation → delivery

  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple competing priorities

  • Ability to train users and translate technical workflows into digestible concepts

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (engineering, QA, customer success, project management)

  • Familiarity with API-based integrations and system-to-system communication

Ideal Requirements

  • Prior ownership of a mission-critical internal or external product

  • Deep comfort with data flows, system states, and logic-driven workflows

  • Ability to challenge assumptions and propose scalable, long-term product solutions

  • Experience conducting client discovery, workshops, and training sessions

  • Proven ability to act as a liaison between external stakeholders and internal technical teams

  • Strong understanding of change management and release planning

  • Ability to build process maps, workflow diagrams, and documentation repositories

  • Experience working in agile product development environments

We’re looking for a person who:

  • Is a systems thinker with exceptional analytical skills and a deep curiosity about how workflows operate end-to-end.

  • Is methodical, organized, and detail-obsessed — they document everything and hate ambiguous requirements.

  • Thrives in a hybrid business + technical environment.

  • Communicates exceptionally well and can translate between clients, engineers, and executives.

  • Is proactive, not reactive — anticipates issues and closes gaps before they become problems.

  • Loves understanding product behavior at a deep level and being “the expert in the room.”

  • Is comfortable owning a system long-term and being accountable for its success.

  • Works well in a fast-paced environment where processes evolve rapidly.

  • Is collaborative: not territorial, not a lone wolf, and not someone who works outside defined channels.
