Municipal Court Supervisor

The Municipal Court Supervisor earns a competitive salary of $29.25 to $34.31 per hour based on qualifications. Additionally, the city pays all premiums for our employees' dental, long-term disability protection, and life insurance, plus the majority portion of the medical premium for employees and their dependents. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE MUNICIPAL COURT SUPERVISOR

Job Summary

The purpose of this job within the organization is to oversee and perform a variety of clerical duties related to the maintenance of court records, as well as supervising the Deputy Court Clerks.

This job works under close to general supervision according to set procedures.

Essential Functions:

Organizes, directs, and coordinates the activity of docket clerks; collaborates to review, revise, and deploy departmental policies and procedures.

Conducts periodic staff meetings to review and discuss problems affecting daily work or interdepartmental interactions.

Prepares highly detailed monthly reports; assists the Court Manage when there are errors in the financial areas of the system.

Supervises various full time and part time employees in the Municipal Court Department for case and docket processing; carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Assists with interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Additional Duties:

Ensures all cases on dockets are processed promptly and efficiently and answers questions from staff, citizens, defendants, defense attorneys, prosecutors and bonding companies.

Delivers deposit bag after staff balance drawers a complete deposit.

Assist with gathering information to present for the yearly budget.

Orders apparel and uniforms for staff; inventories and orders supplies; and other paperwork.

Conducts research for other departments with questioning filed cases with the court or statuses.

Covers the dockets and customer service windows with staff take their scheduled lunches by helping walk-in customers and phone customers.

Adjusts all monthly reports and performance measures yearly to ensure correct reporting.

Maintains records for retention and disposition.

Compiles, calculates, and maintains subordinate payroll records.

Approves and posts invoices; processes invoices; verifies coding and sends batches to be approved to Court Manager.

Performs related work as assigned.
