BSQE Overview:

BSQE (Bechtel Supplier Quality & Expediting) is a team of 450+ certified professionals that consists of Bechtel employees and employees from strategic alliances with Third Party Providers that are available worldwide for Bechtel projects. We consist of leading industry certified personnel: API, ANSI, ASME, ASNT, SPC, & AWS CWI certifications

ENSURE delivery of compliant materials & equipment on time to both Bechtel projects and clients

VERIFY manufactured equipment in accordance with the Order specifications

ASSURE that industry quality standards are achieved

Objectives

ASSESS supply chain risk / supplier capability / capacity

VERIFY effective implementation of the supplier's QA/QC program and scheduled milestones

IDENTIFY non-conforming items and potential bottlenecks or challenges or during fabrication

RESOLVE non-conformance prior to delivery

Job Summary:

Responsible for expediting completion and delivery of materials and equipment by visiting suppliers’ plants to ensure conformance with purchase order/contract agreements and project requirements. Evaluates supplier progress on engineering, materials acquisition, and manufacturing. Initiates timely actions and reports as required to maintain supplier progress to support project schedules. Travels within assigned area to accomplish these tasks.

This position involves extensive weekly travel within the United States traveling to supplier sites. Travel schedules may vary based on client needs. Some engagements may require weekend travel or extended stays through the weekend, while others may be within driving distance of the employee’s home.

Major Responsibilities:

• Monitors all supplier operations involved in producing the materials specified in the purchase contract, including production planning, order entry, engineering, materials acquisition, manufacture, assembly, testing and shipment.
• Evaluates manufacturing progress at the suppliers’ plant through visual observation. Reviews sub-supplier procurement, expedites engineering and data submittals. Reports this information orally, telegraphically and with written expediting reports, as appropriate.
• Analyzes supplier schedules and progress reports to determine if they support the project required delivery dates. Identifies problem areas and initiates or recommends corrective action to supplier personnel.
• Coordinates expediting activities with the Project Expediter, and Bechtel project and support personnel. Works with Supplier Quality Representatives to ensure quality standards are met.
• Obtains and reports shipping and tracing information for follow-up by client.
• Reports supplier status information such as supplier labor contracts and negotiations, supplier management changes, product changes and lead times as necessary.
• Evaluates and reports on supplier performance as directed by clients.
• Responsible for adhering to all safety policies and procedures.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Competency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Ability to interpret basic purchase contracts
• Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes
• Basic computer skills
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently.
