Job Details

As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for developing detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, and scope documentation. Your role is essential in helping the company competitively bid projects while protecting profitability and mitigating risk. You will collaborate closely with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and the preconstruction team to qualify bids, verify scopes of work, and ensure compliance with project requirements. Timely and precise estimates will support project planning and contribute to winning new business in the competitive Austin market.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze construction drawings, plans, and specifications to develop comprehensive cost estimates
• Prepare and coordinate bid proposals, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
• Review and qualify subcontractor and supplier bids for completeness and compliance
• Collaborate with project managers and preconstruction teams during the bidding process
• Manage multiple bids simultaneously within deadlines
• Ensure compliance with project-specific bidding regulations and company goals
• Maintain proficiency in estimating software and internal systems
• Identify and report scope changes or risks that could affect budget or schedule
• Participate in post-bid reviews and assist in preparing change order pricing when needed
• Present estimates and proposals to internal teams and clients as required

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating (open to more experienced candidates as well)
• Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and commercial project scopes
• Expertise reading and interpreting construction documents and specifications
• Proficiency with estimating software (such as MC2, Sage, QuickBid, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar)
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented with strong focus on accuracy and quality in estimates
