Family Partner Certified
- Per referral from Case Managers, Therapists, Skills Trainers, and/or other Treatment Team members, Family Partner meets with parents/caregivers of clients served in the CSC program to provide experienced advice and guidance concerning CSC services and mental health services in general.
- Under the supervision of CSC Program Manager, provides emotional support to parents/caregivers of CSC clients struggling to meet their unique parental demands and personal challenges.
- Participates as a team member in conferences designed for the diagnosis and treatment of clients.
- Assists parents in identifying barriers and problems as well as in problem solving.
- On behalf of parents/caregivers, acts as liaison and advocate with appropriate agencies, physicians, schools, employers, etc.
- Consults and meets with other KCF Family Partners regularly.
- Co-facilitates Parent Support Groups in an effort to support, empower, and guide parents of CSC clients.
- Increases knowledge and skills through attendance of outside conferences and seminars whenever
possible. - May provide transportation to clients or caregivers.
- Performs related work as required.
- Excellent written communication and computer keyboarding for inputting clinical documentation
- Excellent verbal communication with clients, staff, and community providers
- Connecting families with resources
- Providing emotional support and guidance to families
- Identifying family goals
- Time management required to meet service goals
- Local travel using Center vehicle
- Stooping, bending, sitting, standing, keyboarding for prolonged periods, and lifting up to 15 lbs.
- Ability to be CPR and PMAB certified
- Valid driver's license and liability insurance required. 25% local travel.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience parenting at least one child with a Severe Mental Illness required
- Experience in social services work preferred
