THE TEAM

As part of the Residential Operations team within the Americas region, this role supports the engineering oversight, operational standards, and long-term asset stewardship of Rosewood’s luxury residential portfolio across multiple properties and projects. The role partners closely with Residential Operations, Property Management, Design & Project Services, and ownership stakeholders to help ensure exceptional residential environments, operational reliability, and alignment with Rosewood standards across the region.

On a broader level, Engineering forms part of the global Design and Project Services Department, which supports the creative and operational development of Rosewood properties from pre-development through opening and long-term operation. In this capacity, the role collaborates with Design teams, Project Services, Residential Operations teams, Owners, consultants, and property engineering leaders to support building systems, operational readiness, engineering standards, sustainability initiatives, and long-term asset preservation strategies across the residential portfolio. This role provides strategic guidance and operational support to residential engineering teams across the region, helping ensure consistency in engineering practices, preventative maintenance programs, life safety standards, operational reliability, sustainability initiatives, and resident experience expectations.

YOUR ROLE

• The Director, Engineering, Residences – Americas is a fixed-term position that acts as a strategic partner and steward of Rosewood’s residential assets, supporting engineering operations, building systems, preventative maintenance strategies, and operational standards across multiple residential properties and projects within the region.

• Rather than overseeing the day-to-day engineering operation of a single property, this role provides regional guidance, technical expertise, and operational support to on-property engineering teams and residential leadership. The role partners closely with Residential Operations, Property Management, Design & Project Services, ownership groups, and HOA stakeholders to help ensure consistency, operational excellence, asset integrity, and elevated residential experiences across the portfolio.

• The role supports engineering and operational initiatives related to pre-openings, transitions, stabilizations, renovations, capital planning, sustainability efforts, vendor oversight, and long-term asset preservation strategies, while helping ensure alignment with Rosewood standards, regulatory requirements, and residential operational best practices.

Residential Engineering & Operations

• Supports residential engineering operations across multiple properties within the region, helping ensure alignment with Rosewood standards, operational best practices, preventative maintenance strategies, and long-term asset stewardship objectives.

• Partners with on-property engineering and residential operations teams to support operational reliability, life safety standards, sustainability initiatives, resident experience expectations, and engineering consistency across the portfolio.

• Provides technical guidance and operational support related to building systems, engineering infrastructure, preventative maintenance programs, vendor management, capital projects, and asset preservation initiatives.

• Collaborates closely with Residential Operations, Property Management, HOA stakeholders, Design & Project Services teams, consultants, contractors, and ownership representatives to support engineering-related operational priorities and long-term residential objectives.

• Supports engineering planning and operational readiness efforts related to pre-openings, transitions, renovations, stabilizations, and major residential projects where applicable.

• Contributes to the development and implementation of engineering standards, operational procedures, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement strategies across the residential portfolio.

• Supports property engineering leaders through coaching, collaboration, technical partnership, and operational guidance while fostering a culture aligned with Rosewood values and Relationship Hospitality.

• Builds strong professional relationships with property teams, residents, homeowners, consultants, vendors, and operational stakeholders through a highly collaborative, service-oriented, and solutions-focused approach.

• Acts as a Brand Ambassador at all times and models the Company’s culture, vision, mission, and core values.

Skills and Experience

• Strong knowledge of building systems and engineering operations including Fire & Life Safety, Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing, Building Controls and General Building Systems.
• Experience supporting luxury residential, branded residences, mixed-use or ultra-luxury hospitality environments preferred.
• Experience managing engineering operations within occupied residential communities, with an understanding of resident privacy, discretion and service expectations.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs, asset preservation strategies and long-term building lifecycle management.
• Experience supporting capital projects, renovations, vendor management and operational improvement initiatives within luxury environments.
• Understanding of facility regulations, safety standards, emergency response procedures and residential operational compliance requirements.
• Experience collaborating with homeowners, HOA representatives, ownership groups, consultants, contractors and vendors preferred.
• Strong operational leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and service-driven environment.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to interact professionally with residents, homeowners, guests and associates.
• Demonstrates sound judgment, professionalism and a highly service-oriented approach.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Knowledge of sustainability initiatives, energy management and operational efficiency practices preferred.
• Ability to lead and develop teams through coaching, mentorship and performance management.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services , Architectural Engineering or Facilities Management preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant operational experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, LEED accreditation or related certifications are desirable.
• Experience in luxury hospitality, branded residences or residential operations preferred.
