Travel RN – Med/Surg Job Details

• Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical Unit (Med/Surg RN)
• Location: Amarillo, TX 79106 (Texas healthcare job)
• Facility: Community Hospital, Med/Surg 5AB Unit
• Assignment Length: 12 weeks (Start: 9/15/2025 – End: 12/8/2025)
• Shift: 3 x 12-hour day shifts per week (07:00 – 19:30)
• Total Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1460 - $1500
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:6
• EMR System: Epic (recent experience required within 6 months)
• Support Services: Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, Unit Secretary

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient Med/Surg nursing experience
• Recent Epic EMR experience (within the last 6 months)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Ability to float to units of equal or lower acuity as needed
• Must reside at least 50 miles from Amarillo, TX facility (travel nurse requirement)
• Proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation, isolation precautions, MS/Tele, nasal cannula, and peripheral line care/management

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced Med/Surg unit
• Monitor and manage telemetry in a centralized setting
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for comprehensive patient care
• Float to other hospital units as required
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR
• Maintain patient safety, follow isolation precautions, and adhere to infection control protocols
• Complete unit orientation and required onsite training modules
