Explore the Science Beneath the Surface
Petrophysics is the study of the physical and chemical properties of subsurface reservoirs, including rocks and fluids. As the first program of its kind in North America , this degree equips students with the knowledge and skills to characterize subsurface formations with direct applications in petroleum exploration and production.
This multidisciplinary program integrates Geology, Physics, and Natural Gas Engineering, combining strong theoretical foundations with hands-on research experience.

Degree Options
- Plan I (Thesis): 24 credit hours + 6 credit hours (research proposal & thesis)
- Plan II (Non-Thesis): 30 credit hours + short research project
Admission Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Geoscience, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, or a related field
