Lyrba USA, a sustainable and socially responsible plastics processing company, operates in a brand-new state of the art food grade PET sheet production site that utilizes 100% post-consumer material as its feed source.
Position SummaryLead Production Operator for a PET sheet line (Recycled PET) responsible for performing work assigned in our manufacturing area according to the scheduled production requirements. Must run production equipment in a safe, productive, efficient, and quality-conscious manner to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production goals. As Lead you will be responsible for all team members on your shift and making sure all their duties are being performed safely and correctly per procedures provided for them.
Role and Responsibilities- Supervise Production Operators and Material Handlers on assigned team
- Operation of new PET sheet line including raw material adding, mixing, and blending of raw materials, Extruder operation, sheet production and roll station operations.
- Operate powered fork trucks and lifts.
- Responsible for the safe, efficient operation of the equipment.
- Responsible for their finished goods quality.
- Required to train newer operators.
- Communicate and provide information to Supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates
- Previous extrusion experience is strongly preferred, particularly with plastic sheet .
- Previous experience as a production supervisory preferred
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) preferred.
- English language communication both spoken and written.
- Ability to use computer systems, Windows operating systems experience preferred
- Able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Able to gather and analyze information skillfully.
- Able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of office administration procedures and ability to operate most standard office equipment.
- Attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent spelling, grammar, and written communication skills.
- Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds Able to walk, stand, sit for extended periods.
- Able to able to handle extreme heat/cool weather operations.
- Available for flexible working hours/overtime if needed.
- Able to work in a diverse, team-oriented environment yet still be able to think independently.
- Able to able to follow both written and spoken work instructions.
- Strong work ethic and professional demeanor.
