Financial Analyst I

Our client City of Houston is in need of a Financial Analyst I. This is a temporary position; it all depends on the City’s budget whether they can extend the position further or offer you a permanent position if one becomes available.

Pay Rate: $26.00

Location: Houston, TX 77054 (near NRG Stadium)

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm

Job Duties:

• Assists department accounting staff in meeting their financial and accounting functional goals.
• Maintains financial programs in accordance with established procedures.
• Analyzes financial statements and reports.
• Assists in the design and development of financial policies and procedures.
• Assists department representatives in the review and evaluation of selected financial reports.
• Compiles financial data and prepares work papers, schedules, graphs and charts as required.
• Performs other duties and special projects as requested.

Requirements:

• Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and comply with AP 2-2 policy.
• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a closely related field.
• EXPERIENCE: One year of professional experience in finance, budget analysis, economics or a closely related field is required.
• Substitutions: Four years of pertinent professional or para-professional experience may substitute for the education requirement.
• An Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a closely related field and two years of pertinent professional or para-professional experience may substitute for the education requirement.
