We are seeking a bilingual HR Business Partner (HRBP) to serve as the primary HR lead for a workforce of 200+ field employees based out of the Kemah office. This is an on-site role and partners closely with operations leadership. This position works alongside HR team members and is responsible for leading day-to-day HR operations, employee relations, compliance, and talent support functions while also contributing to longer-term HR strategy and process improvement. This role is best suited for a true HRBP, not a payroll-heavy or purely administrative HR function, and offers a high level of autonomy and influence in shaping HR practices.
Responsibilities
- Oversee HR operations and support a workforce of approximately 230 field employees in a blue-collar environment.
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and resolve conflicts.
- Partner with leadership to align HR strategies with business goals, manage workforce planning, and analyze HR metrics.
- Implement diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives; lead employee training on workplace topics.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Manage employee benefits programs including health insurance, 401(k), disability, and life insurance, and assist with open enrollment and claims resolution.
- Handle recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes, including preparing documentation and conducting exit interviews.
- Process verifications of employment and respond to employment inquiries.
- Support payroll processing, including weekly payroll and backup duties, and manage Texas Workforce communications.
- Provide bilingual HR support (Spanish/English) — translating policies, facilitating communication, and assisting with investigations and training.
- 5+ years of HR experience in a corporate or blue-collar setting.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online and Workforce preferred.
- Familiarity with payroll processing, employee benefits administration, and employment laws for Texas and Louisiana.
- Strong understanding of employee benefits, insurance plans, 401(k), and Roth retirement plan administration.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and integrity.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
