Bather

Jumping Jack Dog Ranch is growing our Grooming Department and we are looking for an experienced part-time or full-time bather to join our team! Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, physically active, experience with heavy bathing loads, able to time manage, able to lift 50+ lbs, and loves dogs! We have an amazing team we have been building since we opened in 2017, and we have a strict no-drama policy. We strive to cross train all employees in other departments within their first year of employment and are looking to quickly cross-train our new bather in the kennel as a tech, as well.

Our bathing shifts are from 8-5pm and our kennel shifts are from 6AM-2PM and 1PM-9PM. We are located on 13731 Carpenter Lane.

Qualifications

• Experience in the dog industry as a bather, groomer, or kennel tech and willingness to cross-train in other departments, as needed
• Most importantly we are looking for somebody that loves dogs and has a positive energy
• The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach, and handle/feel using hands, fingers, and arms
• This job requires the employee to lift 50+ pounds frequently
• Part time or full time hours may be considered
• High school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• The bather is responsible for properly preparing, bathing and finishing pets by using humane practices and minimizing pet stress
• Performs bath functions as requested by the client and according to company policies
• Safely trim nails, brush teeth, and clean ears, as trained
• Bathe, dry, and brush-out, as instructed, and in compliance with our grooming procedures
• Dogs should be finished with a bandana or other finishing application, as requested
• Great time management and prioritization of tasks
• Restocking for the next day
• Making sure dogs are completely dry and brushed out before sending them home
• Communicating with managers when supplies are low
• Be willing to learn dog handling from our shift leads
• Be force-free
• Be willing to teach other staff grooming techniques
