HVAC Technician III

Responsibilities

• Lead the installation, service, maintenance, and operation of mission-critical mechanical equipment in a data center environment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs on a wide range of HVAC systems, including air and water-cooled chillers, centrifugal and screw package chillers, natural gas boilers, unit heaters, electric duct heaters, cooling towers, and various water pumps.
• Work with pneumatic, DDC, and variable frequency drive controls, as well as HVAC air distribution systems such as AHUs, FCUs, and fans.
• Maintain, upgrade, and back up Building Automation Software as required.
• Monitor compliance with contractual commitments and ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.
• Provide guidance, leadership, and training to less experienced technicians to support their professional development.
• Respond to after-hours and on-call assignments as needed to ensure continuous system operation.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a basic air conditioning theory class.
• Minimum of 7 years of large commercial HVAC service experience required; 8 years preferred.
• Proficiency in the use of HVAC diagnostic tools and instruments.
• Experience with DDC, pneumatic, and variable frequency drive controls.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office or related software.
• Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Certification required.
• Current and active Journeyman HVAC license required.
• OSHA Certification required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to satisfactorily complete any required client background checks or training.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance preferred.
