Physical Therapist Assistant

• Perform physical therapy procedures in accordance with written treatment plan formulated by the Licensed Physical Therapist, which may include therapeutic exercises, traction, massage, therapeutic heat and cold, hydrotherapy, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, intermittent compression, functional training, gait training, prosthetic training, chest physical therapy, and measurement for assistive devices
• Perform tests for interpretation by the Physical Therapist such as goniometry, gross muscle test, length and girth measurements, and vital signs
• Assist the Physical Therapist with evaluations and complex procedures
• Schedule patients, document treatment, and submit charges
• Communicate with Physical Therapist and other members of the health care team on the advice of the therapist responsible for the patient Education Required: Associate's Degree from a Physical Therapist Assistant Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association
Experience Required: None
Experience Preferred: One year experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in an acute care setting, preferably oncology
Licensure/Certification Required: PTA - Physical Therapist Assistant License issued by the Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners or PT - Physical Therapist License issued by the Executive Council of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Examiners. CPR - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Refer to the Position Description for specific ADA requirements and working conditions. This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, and therefore may require routine reviews and screening. The ability to satisfy and maintain all requirements necessary to ensure the continued security and integrity of such infrastructure is a condition of hire and continued employment.
