Maintenance Tech II
Location: Houston, TX
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6am-6pm (1-hour unpaid lunch) Industrial Maintenance Technician responsible for the operation, upkeep, and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment across assigned districts. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Technical certificate or Associate of Applied Science degree preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in industrial maintenance
- 1-3 years of machining experience
- Hands-on experience with manlifts, lathes, mills, grinders, and other machinery
- 1-3 years working safely with high-voltage systems
- Familiarity with API threads
- Experience in QC inspection and tool measurement
- Skilled in operating forklifts and various industrial equipment
- Proficient in MIG, stick, and oxy-acetylene welding techniques
- Strong knowledge of tools, machinery, and maintenance procedures
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs with minimal supervision
- Capable of working independently on routine tasks
- Knowledge of and adherence to safety and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
- Willingness to travel to other districts as needed
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical issues
- Ability to record specifications for quality and performance tracking
- Proficient in reading and interpreting charts, blueprints, and work instructions
- Basic computer skills preferred (MS Word, Excel)
- Perform preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagrams, manuals, and precision instruments
- Dismantle and inspect defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools
- Measure and adjust parts using calipers, micrometers, and other tools
- Inform production teams of routine maintenance procedures and ensure compliance
- Fabricate repair parts using machine shop equipment
- Manage inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies
- Provide maintenance updates and prepare reports on trends and issues
- Stay current with technical knowledge through workshops and publications
- Maintain continuity across teams by documenting actions and needs
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment by following all procedures
- Support team efforts and perform other duties as assigned
