Mobile Diesel Mechanic

Description:

Southwest International Trucks is currently accepting applications for Mobile Diesel Mechanics at our locations. The position entails traveling to client sites and provide maintenance, repair, and diagnostic services for diesel vehicles to include but not limited to engine services, brake service, engine diagnosis, inspections, cooling system service, etc. Most common service calls include scheduled services and repairs, break down response, and PM services.

• Maintain service truck in a professional manner
• Stock and maintain service truck inventory, tool collection, and all necessary paperwork daily. (candidate to provide own tools)
• Adhere to traffic laws
• Routine and preventative maintenance
• Diagnose any mechanical, electrical, other breakdown or failure.
• Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of the components parts and systems.
• Repair, or adjust CAT, Cummins, Allison, International engines and Eaton, Meritor, and Spicer drive trains.
• Repair and install truck/engine equipment.
• When applicable use welding skills
• Complete job within established time limits
• Perform other duties that may be assigned.

Job Requirements:

Individuals will be expected to independently diagnosis, repair and/or replace major components.

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Physical requirements include standing, bending, lifting (50+ lbs.), and sitting for long periods of time in varied temperatures and weather conditions
• Minimum 3 years hands on with diesel truck repair, maintenance, and diagnostics
• Must be able to read and comprehend instruction manuals and diagnostic charts.
• Computer skills & data entry (Diagnostics Experience Preferred)
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record, CDL a plus
• Must be able to provide sufficient tool inventory to perform job duties
• Experience interacting directly with customers with high levels of customer service and communication skills
• Flexible working on all Makes, Models, and types of repairs
