Unit can provide care to adults and peds as needed.Will position float between units: NoIs on-call required? NoAre weekends required? Yes 6 weekend shifts per schedule period.Are block schedules required? NoWhat are expected ratios? 1:6Special requirements: The assigned nurse must be able to function as a fully independent staff nurse with a standard patient ratio of 1:6. In addition, the nurse should be capable of assuming Charge Nurse responsibilities as needed and must be able to function in the charge role independently. Charge responsibilities encompass the entire Acute Care Services Department, including both the Medical Surgical (MS) unit and the adult ICU. The ICU is staffed with its own ICU nurse, and the Charge Nurse oversees operational workflow for the ICU rather than providing direct ICU patient care. The unit provides care for patients ranging from 1 month of age through end of life, so broad clinical competency is essential. Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications are required.
