Specialist, Field Marketing

Red Bull
San Antonio, TX

Reporting to the Manager of Field Marketing, the Field Marketing Specialist (FMS) supports the Field Marketing Manager (FMM) in establishing Red Bull as the leading brand within their designated region. The FMS serves as the local representation of Red Bull, aligning their efforts with global and national strategies and priorities to ensure relevance within their market.

The primary responsibilities of the FMS include gathering vital local insights and developing robust networks within specific communities and key areas of influence, including notable local creators. They provide input to help design and execute innovative marketing initiatives tailored to local needs and characteristics, encompassing the four pillars of the marketing mix: Consumer Collecting, Sports, Culture, and Communications. Additionally, they collaborate with both On Premise and Off Premise partners to maximize impact.

Working in the field, the Field Marketing Specialist oversees a local team of Student Marketers, bringing the Red Bull brand to life on college campuses and within the broader market. Their objective is to engage new consumers and create meaningful connections that promote Red Bull's presence and objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Areas that play to your strengths

All the responsibilities we'll trust you with:

  • Set clear goals with the Consumer Collecting Manager (CCM) and the Field Marketing Manager (FMM) to drive product trials that engage new users and expand the consumer base both on and off campus within your region.

Clearly communicate expectations and provide guidelines for Student Marketeers to effectively plan and execute trial-driving strategies in-market and integrate them into student life during key moments and consumption occasions.

Ensure a robust sales support program is in place to enhance distribution, generate excitement within the trade, and improve in-store visibility in and around universities.

Track performance metrics and identify opportunities to reach new consumers, enabling a more strategic and efficient approach.

Mentor and inspire each team member during the planning process to encourage a constant flow of innovative mission ideas aimed at growing the user base.

Manage and coordinate sampling requests both externally and internally, ensuring alignment with broader organizational priorities.

Foster productive interactions with consumers to ensure positive trial experiences, addressing any barriers or negative perceptions when necessary.

  • Create and support significant events, scenes, and marketing initiatives that align with Red Bull's brand values and resonate with local consumers, both within the market and on campus, with a particular emphasis on participation.

Assist in executing a balanced program that incorporates third-party event collaborations within relevant sports and cultural spaces, both on and off campus.

Identify key local influencers and opinion leaders at the collegiate and market levels who are aligned with Red Bull's interests. Collaborate with the FMM (Field Marketing Manager) to integrate them into the Red Bull brand universe.

Take a leading role in ensuring the flawless execution of national and global events or projects.

Integrate indirect sampling strategies into plans to expand reach in areas or occasions that are typically harder to access, creating moments to delight and surprise consumers.

Drive the activation of national pillar campaigns, events, and global brand projects in and around universities to achieve core program objectives.

  • Collaborate closely with the Field Marketing Manager (FMM) to develop, manage, and execute innovative ideas that are locally relevant, aligning with and enhancing the activation of global and national initiatives.

Engage the Consumer Collecting team in brainstorming sessions to generate field-oriented ideas, leveraging their unique university lifestyle insights to identify emerging consumer trends driven by technology, digital platforms, or social behaviors at an early stage.

Lead the creative process alongside Student Marketeers to ensure a continuous pipeline of fresh, innovative ideas aimed at fostering loyalty within the student demographic (e.g., conducting 'focus groups').

Develop a comprehensive understanding of the consumer landscape to effectively target and engage diverse audiences across various consumption occasions. Employ both direct and indirect sampling methods in meaningful and relevant ways.

  • Serve as a role model by embodying Red Bull's core values, maintaining a consistent tone that is both motivating and inspiring.

Ensure the proper programs are established in the appropriate areas to effectively engage your target audience. Stay adaptable with available resources to ensure efforts are directed where they will have the greatest impact.

Optimize program efficiency by utilizing program tools that set us up for success.

Provide support to the local logistics system to ensure all necessary tools, warehousing, and management elements are in place, geared toward achieving premium appearance and effective tool management.

Work collaboratively with the national operations team to maintain disciplined product stock management practices.

Consistently perform regular maintenance and efficient management of program tools, Mini Fleet vehicles, and other branded assets to uphold and reflect a premium standard.
