Remote Lead Revenue Accountant
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant - REMOTE. This role is critical within a fast-growing SaaS environment where you will own and scale revenue accounting operations. You will manage end-to-end revenue processes to ensure compliance with necessary accounting standards while optimizing key performance metrics such as ARR and MRR. Collaboration with various teams will be essential as you support a multi-entity and multi-currency global structure, ensuring that all financial activities align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Accountabilities
- Own end-to-end revenue accounting for a high-growth SaaS business, ensuring compliance with ASC 606.
- Manage accurate ARR, MRR, churn, expansion, and related SaaS metrics, ensuring alignment between ARR, billings, and revenue.
- Serve as the primary owner of billing and revenue management systems, including setup and reporting.
- Oversee the invoicing process, ensuring accuracy and alignment with customer contracts.
- Manage customer collections and collaborate with Sales and Customer Success for timely cash collection.
- Ensure compliance and accuracy in vendor setup processes.
- Handle revenue management across multiple legal entities and currencies, ensuring proper FX treatment.
- Lead revenue-related activities for close, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Prepare revenue and AR schedules for audits and external reviews.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to support operational decisions and reporting.
- Identify and implement process improvements in revenue operations.
- Maintain documentation and controls to support a SOX-ready and audit-ready environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in SaaS environments.
- Strong knowledge of revenue accounting and key performance metrics.
- Hands-on experience with billing systems, such as Maxio.
- Experience in multi-entity and multi-currency accounting.
- In-depth understanding of ASC 606 compliance.
- Familiarity with invoicing, collections, and accounts receivable management.
- Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
- Detail-oriented with strong independent working capabilities.
- Understanding of accounting standards and compliance requirements.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA/CMA preferred.
