Key Responsibilities:

• Review and interpret construction plans and specifications to determine project needs.
• Obtain and assess material and equipment pricing from vendors and suppliers.
• Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates and comprehensive proposals for clients.
• Conduct quantity takeoffs using company procedures and ensure their accuracy.
• Collaborate with vendors on product specifications and pricing.
• Engage with clients to clarify project scope, answer questions, and ensure satisfaction.
• Maintain organized records of project communications and decisions.
• Complete bid checklists, project summaries, and preliminary schedules.
• Support management in presenting final bids to clients.
• Build strong relationships with clients through site visits and regular meetings.
• Attend client and industry events as needed, even outside regular business hours.
• Manage project documentation using estimating software.
• Participate in project meetings and site visits as needed.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of Estimator experience in construction, with a focus on commercial projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• In-depth knowledge of construction plans, specifications, and estimating procedures.
• Competence in business math calculations and project time/materials estimation.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction processes and terminology.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: Experience in drywall, flooring, or specialty construction.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Takeoff software.
• Preferred: College degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related fields.
• Preferred: Field experience as a subcontractor.
• Preferred: Experience with Sage 100 software.
