The Woodlands Hospital a primary and secondary care hospital serving North Harris and Montgomery counties. Clinical services include cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging, women's services (digital mammography and bone density studies), neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level II nurseries) and surgery, pathology and pulmonary services, and sleep disorders. Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with SHC Executive Director, providers, clinic administrative and support staff, and hospital administrative, medical and management staff to assess opportunities for development through education and training.
  • Plans, coordinates/facilitates, implements and evaluates education and training opportunities for SHC network providers and staff.
  • Coordinates the activities of consultants, agencies and other providers involved in specific education and training programs.
  • Serves as a point of contact for network providers in areas of available consumer support services.
  • Participates in the development of budget, marketing and promotional goals and strategies for educational programs as appropriate.
  • Serves as a resource in the review and/or development of outlines, resources materials and learning activities designed to meet educational needs of individuals and groups on healthcare topics.
  • Maintains knowledge of current health care issues and trends and utilizes research findings as a basis for education and training.
  • Collaborates with Good Samaritan Hospital education personnel and serves as a support and resource in the area of patient and family education.
  • Performs value-added activities that result in positive financial performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications

Position Qualifications

Education:
  • Diploma in Nursing or BS required from an accredited college/university
  • Preferred Education: Masters in Nursing or Education from an accredited college or university.
Licensure:
  • Current Texas licensure as Registered Nurse (if an RN).
  • Required Certification: AHA BLS Healthcare Provider status
  • Preferred Certification: AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Instructor.
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years nursing or teaching experience.
Preferred experience: Nursing, patient or public education experience including planning, developing, implementing and evaluating education program Pay Range $33.60 - $48.73 /hour
