Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Accounts Payable/Accounting Clerk. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various accounting and clerical tasks to support the financial operations of the organization. This role requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting principles. The Accounting Clerk will work closely with the accounting team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of financial processes.
Primary Job Roles
- Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper authorization.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and process electronic payments.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable files.
- Generate and send out customer invoices.
- Monitor accounts to ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Follow up on overdue accounts and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain accounts receivable records.
- Assist in the preparation of journal entries.
- Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Monitor and record bank transactions accurately.
- Generate various financial reports as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
- Enter financial transactions into the accounting system with precision.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance department.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
Skills & Abilities
- Minimum of a high school diploma; an associate's degree in accounting or related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as an accounting clerk or similar role.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly base pay range $20.00-25.00 per hour; depending on experience

Work Location

- This is not a remote working position
