Who we're looking for
Toyota's OneTech organization is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Principal Engineer for DevSecOps within the Manufacturing and Transformation Organization.
The primary responsibility of this role is to Architect, Design, Configure, Build, and Implement DevSecOps pipeline collaborating with Toyota DevOps and Security COE and their guidelines. The Manufacturing Organization has a portfolio of numerous applications that are both legacy and modern, deployed on-premise and cloud and developed in C#, C++, Python, JAVA, Server, and Serverless technologies like Lambda, API gateway, and legacy COBOL. The goal of the manufacturing organization over time is to use scripted and automated pipelines using Toyota Motors North America standard enterprise tools to achieve the desired speed of development and deployment, security and code quality compliance, build and deployment reliability, and bring manufacturing application up to standards to meet enterprise standards and goals.
Reporting to the Infrastructure & DevSecOps Manager, the person in this role will support the Manufacturing and Digital Transformation Office department's objective to manage the planning and progress of the portfolio through intake demand, continuous planning ensuring fiscal responsibility, and managing communication regarding manufacturing programs and procedures for OneTech.
What you'll be doing
- Familiarize with TMNA Enterprise Standards of DevOps Platform and Security COE like
- Prebaked CI/CD Pipelines of Toyota DevOps Center of Excellence.
- TMNA Standard tools for DevOps Pipeline like GitHub actions, Jenkins deployment, ARGO CD, JFROG Artifactory, Quality toll gates like Code Analysis, Static Analysis, Dynamic Application Static Testing, Manual Penn Testing & X-Ray Scan.
- GITFLOW strategy to continuously integrate and deploy to Sub Prod Environments automatically and based on approval. Build release orchestration for controlled environments upon TMNA change request process and approvals.
- Understand Monitoring and Observability using Toyota Enterprise tools.
- Work with Manufacturing IT leaders and development/operational managers to understand the current portfolio, its state, and the criticality of manufacturing applications to manufacturing to prioritize critical manufacturing application Pipeline build and help in building pipelines for other Critical Applications.
- Architect, Design, Build or Configure, Implement, and document reference DevSecOps Pipeline using Toyota DevOps Platform prebaked CI/CD pipeline that uses GitHub Action, Jenkins Deployment, and ARGO CD for critical Manufacturing applications as reference for individual teams to build.
- Build infrastructure as code (Configuration management tools, Terraform, Helm Ansible) for Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Guide other manufacturing application teams to educate and help in building DevSecOps pipeline based on reference implementation and documentation.
- Continuously educate yourself and educate manufacturing organizations on best practices for DevSecOps, Monitoring, and modern development tools like Kubernetes & Containers.
What you bring
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of building DevSecOps pipeline using Jenkins and GitHub actions.
- At least 2 years of experience with Cloud Native technologies (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Good understanding of GITFLOW strategy and deployment to Sub Production and Production Environments.
- Hands-on experience in Architecting, Configure/Build and Implementing DevSecOps pipeline using GitHub Actions, Events, Workflows, JOBS, and Jenkins Deployment.
- Good understanding of Git (Repository Management).
- Good understanding of CI/CD through Git action.
- Automate development tasks by using GitHub Actions.
- Build continuous integration (CI) workflows by using GitHub Actions.
- Leverage GitHub Actions to publish to GitHub Packages.
- Create and publish custom GitHub actions.
- Build and deploy applications On-Prem and AWS/Azure by using GitHub Actions.
- Artifact management (Good understanding of JFROG Artifactory).
- Infrastructure as Code (Configuration management tools, Terraform, Helm Ansible).
- Worked on Cloud Platforms primarily AWS. But understands GCP and Azure as well.
- Microservices deployment/monitoring tools, like Argo CD, Grafana, Prometheus, X-ray, and Container-Insight.
- Familiar and experienced in Security testing like Static Analysis, X-ray Scan, Dynamic Application Security Test (DAST), and Manual Penn testing.
- Understand Site Reliability, High Availability, and Disaster Recovery needs vs requirements.
Added bonus if you have
- Enterprise logging and monitoring tools.
- Understanding of DataDog monitoring and observability.
- Familiar and experienced in Application Monitoring and Observability.
- Ability to communicate and strike a balance working with downstream IS Organizations and manufacturing organizations.
- Agile Methodology/Scrum.
- Self-motivated and able to effectively lead & manage teams with multiple demands and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong, proven communication skills with the ability to deliver complex information concisely across cultures and organizational boundaries with multiple levels.
