Early Childhood Class Instructor

For over 45 years, Gymboree Play & Music has led the way in early childhood play, music, and arts classes for children ages newborn to five years old and their parents. If you are a high energy, confident team player and crave an outlet for your music, art theatre, or child development interests, and you are good with children, Gymboree Play & Music is the place for you! We are currently looking for instructors for our Southlake location to teach Play & Learn, Preschool Prep, School Skills, LEGO Camp, Gymboree On The Go, Music, and Art.


Gymboree instructors facilitate high-energy parent-child classes in play, art, and music, and child-only classes in school readiness programs, as well as themed and private parties using lesson plans provided by Gymboree. Gymboree On The Go requires local traveling to preschools/daycares/etc., mileage will be reimbursed. You must be a happy person who is willing to sing unaccompanied, lead parenting discussions, multi-task, and engage children by crawling, climbing, sliding, and singing with them (and encouraging their parents to do so as well!). Music teachers must have a good musical foundation and must be able to sing well, read music, and be able to teach the basic building blocks of music (but do not need to play an instrument). You must be very comfortable being silly in front of a group of parents and kids and encouraging them to be silly with you. School readiness classes are a wonderful way for education majors to gain experience in the classroom with shorter and smaller classes, and no assessments!


Life experience, dependability, responsibility, and personality count more than previous work experience for the instructor position. However, previous experience with children and in retail sales or customer services is strongly preferred. Applicant must be dedicated to exceeding customer experience; committed to learning and program development in an on-going training process; demonstrate the Gymboree core value of Celebrating Childhood by developing and maintaining customer relations.


Job Responsibilities:
• Facilitate parent-child and independent child classes in Gymboree Play, Art and/or Music
• Host birthday parties
• Lesson plan according to Gymboree curriculum
• Be responsible for knowing and achieving sales goals
• Answer incoming calls, make out bound calls and greet and service customers
• Basic computer and Internet skills
• Maintain site standards, including but not limited to: cleaning, stocking, and pricing of merchandise, and helping with equipment set changes
Gymboree provides all training necessary.


Part time positions are available with a flexible schedule. Classes held weekdays and Saturdays.

Compensation: $7.50 - $25.00 per hour
