Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our team in Houston, TX, 77003. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that our shipping and receiving operations run smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging and labeling items.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory and shipments using our tracking systems.
- Coordinate with vendors and carriers to schedule deliveries and pickups.
- Assist in inventory management, including stock counts and organization.
- Ensure compliance with safety and shipping regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to improve shipping and receiving processes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
- Proven experience in shipping and receiving or a similar role.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (certification preferred).
- Familiarity with shipping software and inventory management systems.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift heavy packages and stand for extended periods.
- Basic math skills for inventory management.
