About Houston

ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team

We are seeking an experienced System Architect to design and support the enterprise implementation of Siemens Teamcenter X (version 2406 or higher) with a deep focus on Integrated Lifecycle Management (ILM) and Recipe Management, tailored for Process Industry operations.


This role combines PLM domain expertise with system architecture responsibilities such as roadmap planning, system modeling and supporting delivery teams with technical leadership. The architect will ensure the stability, interoperability, scalability, and long term maintainability of the PLM ecosystem while contributing to the architecture runway for future enhancements.

This is a hands-on technical System Architect role, not an enterprise architect or program management position. The ideal candidate prefers solution design, configuration, technical problem solving, and implementation work rather than governance, portfolio leadership, or strategic-only responsibilities.

What you will do

• Design, and configuration of Siemens Teamcenter X 2406+ to support enterprise PLM initiatives.
• Architect and maintain solutions related to Integrated Lifecycle Management (ILM) and Recipe Management, ensuring alignment with business processes in the Process Industry.
• Define PLM technical standards, data models, integrations, and API strategies.
• Work closely with functional and technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable system design.
• Oversee system performance, security, data integrity, and long term maintainability.
• Provide technical leadership during implementation, rollout, and ongoing support phases.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams (Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, Engineering, IT) to optimize end-to-end product lifecycle workflows.
• Troubleshoot complex, multi layered issues involving PLM configurations, integrations, data flows, and cloud components.
• Support system upgrades, new capability rollout, and adoption of Siemens Teamcenter X cloud-native features.
• Mentor technical team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

About you

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  
  
• 5-10 years of hands-on, technical experience with Siemens Teamcenter, including cloud native Teamcenter X deployments.
  
  
• Proven experience with Teamcenter 2406+, including configuration and solution build.
  
  
• Strong, practical experience in ILM, Recipe Management, workflows, structures, and regulated process-industry data models.
  
  
• Experience in the Process Industry (chemicals, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, consumer goods, or similar).
  
  
• Experience designing, configuring, or supporting integrations with ERP, MES, or lab systems (e.g., T4x, REST APIs, middleware).
  
  
• Solid understanding of cloud-native concepts, APIs, microservices, and enterprise integration patterns.
  
  
• Strong Teamcenter system-level technical knowledge, with a working understanding of infrastructure basics (cloud, security, performance).
  
  
• Demonstrated ability to build, configure, troubleshoot, and optimize PLM components (not just define strategy)

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

• Experience with Siemens Active Workspace, BMIDE, and Teamcenter data model configuration.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud deployments for PLM systems.
• Familiarity with T4x integrations, REST APIs, or similar frameworks.
• Architecture or cloud certifications (Siemens, TOGAF, Azure, etc.) are a plus.
• Experience maintaining architecture records in Ardoq, AppModel, and ServiceNow.
