Sr. Pastor
Pastor: The pastor’s duties would include Sunday mornings, evenings, and Wednesday nights, as well as required office hours. A passion for church rejuvenation and spending time with families is essential. Effective teaching and communication with the congregation, meeting their learning needs, are crucial. The church seeks a leader committed to discipling the congregation first, then leading in ministry opportunities as they arise.
We believe the church is for believers and want the pastor to focus on the congregation in that way.
Key characteristics of the pastor include humility, service, and a continuous learning and communication mindset.
The congregation currently averages over 50 years of age but includes some younger families, couples, and a small number of college-age students who attend. We run between 40-50 people on a given Sunday, but have been in the hundreds in previous years.
The only paid staff members are the pastor, secretary, and youth director. The rest of the staff is volunteer-based. Faithful volunteers include the children’s minister (doubles and GA director) and the RA director. Other volunteers assist with specific ministries but may move between positions as needed.
The community is blue-collar, shift-working, and family-oriented. Families work hard and prioritize their children’s well-being. Most students participate in multiple sports offered by the local school, often on various days of the week. Basketball holds the highest popularity, with students and adults frequently attending games.
The area is free of red lights and has only one BBQ restaurant open three days a week. Most activities revolve around the school, where families spend much of their free time with their children. A Walmart is located 7 minutes away, and the church is approximately 30 miles north of Beaumont.
