RTK - Junior Software Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our team as a Junior Software Engineer. This position is with a small, established team based in the DFW area, offering a collaborative and relaxed work environment that fosters innovation. The primary workplace for this position is Aechelon Technology’s Farmer's Branch, TX location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for developing and maintaining application-level software that simulates airborne radar systems and other sensors for use in a variety of training devices. The software is written in the C++ programming language on Windows and Linux platforms.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION:

• In-depth knowledge and experience programming in C/C++ languages


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills


• Ability to work with export-controlled technology

DESIRED COMPETENCIES

• Technical Expertise:
  
  
  
  • Strong foundation in mathematics and physics
  
  
  • Knowledge of radar technology and signal processing
  
  
  • Experience with OpenGL and graphics application programming
  
  
  • Background in real-time, multi-processing systems
  
  
  • Familiarity with tools for geographic data processing (e.g. KML, vector files, digital elevation models, satellite imagery)
  
  


• Developmental Tools & Practices
  
  
  
  • Experience with defect tracking systems (Bugzilla, Jira)
  
  
  • Proficiency with configuration management tools (Preforce, Git)
  
  
  • Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation

• B.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar technical field
