As a Paintless Dent Repair Technician, you will be responsible for repairing and removing dents from vehicles without the need for painting, using specialized tools and techniques. Your expertise will contribute to restoring vehicles to their original condition, ensuring high-quality repairs and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Planning:
- Inspect vehicles to assess the extent of damage and determine the best approach for repair.
- Create a repair plan based on dent size, location, and vehicle type.
- Dent Removal:
- Use PDR techniques to repair dents by accessing the backside of panels or through access points.
- Utilize specialized tools such as rods, picks, and lights to massage out dents and restore panels to their original shape.
- Ensure minimal disturbance to the vehicle’s paint and finish during the repair process.
- Quality Assurance:
- Conduct thorough inspections post-repair to verify the quality and completeness of work.
- Address any additional imperfections or issues as needed to meet quality standards.
- Customer Interaction:
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding the repair process, timeline, and expectations.
- Provide recommendations and advice on maintaining the vehicle's appearance and value.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Document all repairs accurately, including before-and-after photos and detailed notes.
- Maintain records of materials used and hours worked for billing and reporting purposes.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Stay informed about industry trends, tools, and techniques to continuously improve skills and efficiency.
Working Conditions;
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 punds
- Work typically performed in a shop environment.
- May require bending, stooping, and lifting heavy objects.
- Exposure to noise, fumes, and varying temperatures.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Paintless Dent Repair Technician or similar role.
- Proficiency in using PDR tools and techniques to repair various types of dents.
- Knowledge of automotive body repair techniques and materials.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Effective communication skills with customers and team members.
- Certification or training in PDR techniques (preferred).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be eligible to work in the US.
