Job Summary:

The Receivables and Game Day Assistant will receive and deliver all athletic loading dock deliveries. This person will be the delivery point of contact for all athletics deliveries. This position will require fork lift certification, which will be provided by TCU if not already certified. This position will also assist with pre- and post-game set ups.

Duties & Essential Job Functions:

1. Manages inventory of all athletic loading dock deliveries. 2. Receives items by accepting deliveries and transfers items received by issuing, routing or delivering items to requesting department; optimizing storage space as needed. 3. Verifies items received by unpacking containers; inspecting condition of items; comparing count or measure of items to purchase order and packing list; noting discrepancies. 4. Maintains safe and clean working environment in compliance with TCU, NCAA and Big 12 game rules and regulations, as well as any applicable federal, state and local procedures, rules, and regulations. 5. Assists Facilities Coordinator with pre-game set ups and post-game operations 6. Promotes the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program, to include adhering to all departmental policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the Big 12 Conference and the NCAA. 7. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent in experience
  • 1 year of related experience

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Inventory control experience

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

  • Valid Texas Driver's License.
  • Must be insurable under the university motor vehicle requirements.

Preferred Licensure, Certification, and/or Specialized Training:

  • Fork Lift certified

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of customer service techniques with diverse populations in a university setting.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and safety rules and regulations applicable to the job.
  • Knowledge of safe cleaning practices for high traffic and specialized areas.
  • Ability to work well in a team and contributes to team effort when needed.
  • Ability to maintain staff confidence and protect operations by keeping necessary information confidential.
  • Skill at safe operation of a fork lift and motorized utility vehicles.
  • Skill at elevating safety and maintenance concerns in clear and timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently with little daily supervision.
  • Ability to effectively and persuasively communicate with diverse audiences including coaches, staff, student-athletes, sporting-event patrons, visiting teams, vendors and colleagues.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to operate tools and equipment required by the job.

Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):

  • Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
  • Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
  • Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling, climbing ladders and stairs, and prolonged sitting.
  • Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Work is not sedentary and is performed at indoor and outdoor environments, with frequent interruptions and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
  • This is an on-campus, in person position.
  • This position requires regular visits to all TCU athletic facilities and frequent interaction with others.
  • May be exposed to hazardous materials and noxious fumes on occasion.
  • The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate to loud.
