SpringHill Suites - Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a Maintenance Specialist to join our hospitality team and ensure our property operates at peak performance. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and passionate about keeping our hotel facilities safe, efficient, and welcoming for guests and staff.

This role plays a key part in maintaining the guest experience by ensuring all equipment, rooms, and public areas are functioning properly and maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on hotel systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment.

• Conduct daily property inspections to identify repair and maintenance needs.

• Handle guest room maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.

• Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and company policies.

• Assist in managing maintenance inventory and request supplies when needed.

• Support renovation, installation, and improvement projects as assigned.

• Collaborate with the housekeeping and front office teams to minimize guest inconvenience.

• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and work orders in the system (e.g., Opera/Hyatt systems, if applicable).

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician / Engineer in a hotel, resort, or hospitality setting.

• Solid technical knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance.

• Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and safety procedures.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

• Ability to work on shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.

• Trade certification or technical diploma in mechanical/electrical fields preferred.

• Familiarity with property management systems (e.g., Opera , HotSOS , or Hyatt systems ) is a plus.
