HSE Manager Job Description:

Reports to: Area HSE Manager.

Summary/Objective:
The HSE Manager will manage and coordinate Safety within a client’s site to ensure all regulatory provisions and procedures are applied. The HSE Manager is responsible for the creation and implementation of the local HSE improvement plan and advises and supports site management and operational staff to promote employee health, safety, and environmental performance.
Responsibilities:
- Support operations personnel in conducting audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify CAPA’s, and implement follow up assessments as needed.
- Coordinate with operations to ensure all applicable safety and compliance training has been completed.
- In conjunction with operations, analyze all incidents, property loss, near miss, etc. Facilitate Cause mapping and CAPAs, as needed based on SIF actual and potential.
- In conjunction with operations, develop incident analysis presentations.
- Provide case management for incidents resulting in an injury.
- Travel as required to provide on-site/Branch HSE support and oversight across designated operational areas.
- Keep current on safety regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance.
- Promote a strong safety culture within the organization by fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility for safety among employees at all levels.
- Schedule reoccurring meetings with your Branch operations management team.
- Attend branch operations meetings to ensure HSE support/compliance is being met.
- Provide weekly manpower reports for all direct HSE reports in area to regional HSE Manager.
- Conduct weekly meeting to collaborate with HSE Manager/Coordinators to implement HSE initiatives, programs, and professional development effectively and give feedback to your regional HSE Manager.
- Support operations in turnaround/Project planning.
- Extreme focus on development and maintenance of client relationships.
- Job site visits should be conducted on a regular basis.
- Attend and participate in Client Site Safety Meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of experience or equivalent experience combination of work and relevant education.
- Certifications from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals required.
- OSHA 500 certifications preferred.
- Cause mapping or other investigations methods experienced preferred.
- You must possess a valid TWIC card.
- You must pass a DISA background check and hair follicle drug screen.
- Experience in Safety Health and Environment (SHE).
- Experience in Risk Management/Mitigation.
- Experience in OSHA Regulatory Compliance.
- Experience in Occupational Safety and Health System (ISO 45001:2018 or equivalent).
- Experience in First Aid (CPR/AED).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene, air monitoring for heavy metals and asbestos, and noise abatement.
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization and exchange complex information.
- Strong Problem-Solving skills.
- Strong Communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand, and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing.
- Required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands.
- Requires specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Will spend time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level.
- Ability to travel out-of-state and work extended hours as needed.
- On call 24/7 as needed.
