1. Maintains and repairs general plumbing components to include toilets, urinals, faucets, hose bibs, and drains.
2. Installs, repairs, or replaces domestic hot and cold water lines.
3. Repairs and replaces steam to hot water exchangers for major building heating systems and pools.
4. Repairs and replaces pneumatic steam valves, radiator valves, traps, and steam and condensate pipes.
5. Repairs and replaces domestic hot water heat pumps, chilled water pumps, sump pumps, and sewage pumps.
6. Installs, tests, and repairs all sizes of backflow prevention devices.
7. Leads troubleshooting efforts and repairs steam, water, and gas distribution systems.
8. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
9. Provides sketches and dimensions used by drafters to create plans for subcontractor work.
10. Researches catalogs and vendor services for complex and/or customized system retrofits.
11. Interprets and applies mechanical and structural blueprints to plan plumbing repairs and modifications.
12. In coordination with management, assigns to and tracks corrective and preventive maintenance tasks given to subordinate plumbers.
13. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
14. Designing and implementing comprehensive plumbing systems for residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
15. Inspecting and reviewing projects to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal plumbing codes.
16. Leading, scheduling, and monitoring the work of other plumbers and assistants.
17. Performing routine maintenance and emergency repairs to keep systems operational.
18. Estimating time, costs, and resources required for jobs.
19. Advising clients on various plumbing systems and necessary maintenance practices.
20. Maintaining accurate records of projects, including compliance documentation and job reports.
