Senior Technical Designer (Menswear)

As the Senior Technical Designer for menswear, you will be part of a team that takes pride in designing garments that combine comfort, style, and durability — while having your technical expertise recognized and respected every step of the way.
Senior Technical Designer (Menswear) – Your Job Duties
You will oversee all technical aspects of menswear product development, from concept through production, ensuring garment fit, construction, and quality standards align with brand and market expectations.
- Create and maintain technical packages (tech packs) including detailed specifications, construction notes, and BOMs
- Review design sketches and translate them into technical specifications for production
- Conduct fittings on live models and mannequins, communicating fit comments to pattern makers and factories
- Collaborate with design, product development, and sourcing teams to ensure design intent is maintained through final production
- Troubleshoot pattern and construction issues, recommending solutions to improve quality and efficiency
- Manage garment grading, pattern corrections, and measurements for all men’s product categories
- Communicate directly with domestic and overseas factories regarding technical specifications, pattern revisions, and production approvals
- Approve samples and pre-production garments for fit, fabrication, and quality
- Track sample development calendars to ensure deadlines are met across multiple programs
Senior Technical Designer (Menswear) – You Have (Required Skills, Experience & Team Fit)
You have:
- Prior experience as a Technical Designer, Fit Specialist, or Pattern Engineer within the menswear apparel category
- Strong understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, and fabric behavior
- Proficiency with technical design software such as Gerber, or Clo3D, and PLM systems
- Prior experience working with factories on pattern approvals, construction methods, and quality standards
- Knowledge of size specifications, grading, and fit for men’s apparel across various product types (woven shirts, denim, outerwear, and knits)
- A detail-oriented mindset, with a strong ability to communicate technical feedback both visually and verbally
- A collaborative work style, able to partner cross-functionally with design, sourcing, and production teams

- Experience with Centric PLM system
- Experience with Clo3D development tool
Senior Technical Designer (Menswear) – Benefits for You
- Base salary starting range is $70,000 to $95,000, commensurate with experience
