Tommy’s Express Car Wash is seeking a skilled and motivated Multi-Site Service & Maintenance Technician to support three high-volume locations in the Des Moines metro. This role is best suited for a mechanically strong technician who thrives on troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and solving complex equipment challenges in a fast-paced operational environment.

You will play a critical role in keeping advanced wash systems operating safely, efficiently, and consistently by combining hands-on repair work with proactive diagnostics and continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Perform preventative maintenance on automated wash equipment and facility systems
2. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational issues through structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
3. Repair and maintain pumps, bearings, sprockets, electric motors, conveyors, and related mechanical components
4. Monitor equipment performance while sites are actively operating to identify inefficiencies or early failure indicators
5. Execute reactionary repairs with urgency and professionalism
6. Complete after-hours service work requiring site shutdowns
7. Document maintenance activity and communicate findings with leadership
8. Contribute to process improvements that enhance uptime, safety, and guest experience

Ideal Background & Skillset

1. Strong mechanical aptitude with proven hands-on repair experience
2. Background in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, automotive service, car wash systems, or similar equipment environments preferred
3. Experience troubleshooting motors, pumps, drive systems, or automated equipment
4. Electrical troubleshooting and plumbing experience highly valued
5. Ability to independently diagnose problems and develop practical solutions
6. High attention to detail with a safety-first mindset
7. Self-directed, dependable, and comfortable working across multiple locations

Schedule & Work Structure

1. Consistent 40 hours per week focused on preventative maintenance and service work
2. Blend of operational monitoring during open hours and scheduled repairs during closed hours
3. Work performed across Waukee, West Des Moines, and Grimes locations
