Staff Accountant

Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and consistency of dealership transactions.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Post certain transactions and reconcile the monthly manufacturer factory part statements.
• Reconcile extended warranty and insurance product reconciliations.
• Reconcile finance reserve statements and post monthly adjustments
• Reconcile monthly floorplan statements
• Prepare the monthly sales professional unit count and sales achievement reports.
• Research and post certain transactions on weekly bank statement as needed
• Assist Dealership Controller with end of month closeout entries.
• Backup certain accounting clerk desks as needed.
• Assist the Dealership Controller in training accounting clerks and overseeing certain schedules designated by the Dealership Controller.
• Serves as supervisor to the accounting staff in absence of the Dealership Controller and/or Office Manager.
• Other duties that may be assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
• Solid understanding of principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping.
• Superb time management skills, ability to manage multiple priorities and excellent detail orientation.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and partner information.
• Strong mathematical, analytical and communication skills

Education and Experience:
• Prior automotive dealership accounting experience
• Accounting degree preferred
• Intermediate understanding of Microsoft office, specifically Excel

Physical Requirements:
• May lift objects that weigh as much as 15 lbs.
• Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
